Blind Fixing Instructions >

Using screws to attach the handles is preferred for such application as a cupboard door or a drawer front.

A blind fixing is used in situations where you don’t want to see how the timber handle is attached such as a front door.

The smaller and lighter styles of timber front door handles are suitable for a hollow core front door.

Unfortunately, the blind fixing doesn’t work hollow core doors so you would need to use the screw fixing.

Most of our handles are available in recycled Messmate.

Our Crescent Moon and Harvest Moon handles, where possible, are created from small offcuts left over from the furniture making process.

All of the timber we use to create our wooden handles is sourced from sustainable plantations certified by various Australian bodies such as FSC.

When ordering, you can select raw, indoor or outdoor finish depending on the handle style.

Raw - No finish is applied. You can apply your own finish or stain.

Indoor - Osmo polyx matte is used on the handle. this is suitable for all indoor uses such as kitchen cupboard handles.

Outdoor - Osmo UV protect clear satin is a natural oil and wax product that will protect the handle from the sun. If the handles gets exposure to direct sunlight, the finish will need to be periodically reapplied to stop the timber from greying off. The UV protection option is suitable for applications outside such as a a front door. We recommend selecting the same outdoor finish for both sides of the door.

When required, clean with water only. If there is a more stubborn stain, the only cleaning product safe to use is the Osmo maintenance kit.

In outdoor applications such as a front door that gets direct weather and sunlight, regular top-ups of the UV protection oil will be required to keep the timber from greying off.

Depending on your selection when ordering, the handle will either come with a blind fixing or screws.

Yes, all of our wooden front door handles and cabinetry handles are hand-made by furniture makers in our Torquay workshop, 1.5 hours from Melbourne.

Yes, we can create a custom timber door handle to your design and size.

If you notice that your handle is starting to look lacklustre, it may require a coat of finish. This will usually only be required for handles that are exposed to direct sunlight or have high usage.Osmo finish products >
