Anglesea Kitchen Cabinetry Project

  • Sustainable & non-toxic materials were prioritised throughout this mindful cabinetry renovation to complement the surrounding coastal landscape

  • The owners of this beautiful house in Anglesea, Victoria, insisted on using materials that are non-toxic and low VOC when renovating their kitchen and laundry.  The combination of black cabinetry and the sap line rich Messmate timber creates a stunning, modern and organic space.

Matte black timber kitchen cabinetry

The doors and drawer fronts of the kitchen are created from “pure glue” eco plywood coated with a matte black Osmo stain. The subtle grain pattern visible through the stain creates a beautiful texture. The ply internal structures of the kitchen cabinetry is coated with a clear finish to create contrast to the black and bring in that vital sense of luxury.

Wooden laundry cabinetry

The timber bench tops and open shelving were continued into the laundry design. As an adjoining room, keeping the materials the same as the kitchen created a beautiful flow between the spaces.

The open wooden shelf cabinet created beauty in the space as well as functional storage.

Recycled timber bench tops

Beautiful Messmate timber was chosen by the clients for their kitchen wooden bench tops which wrap around the kitchen and end in a waterfall kitchen Island. The black saplines of the recycled Messmate are enhanced by the black of the cabinetry and are a key feature as they cascade over the waterfalled edge
